Sally Hansen HD Review

It's a bad review guys. I did not like this polish because the formula was very thin and runny. It took three coats for it to be opaque and each coat took FOREVER to dry. Sigh.

Also, it's not particularly pretty.

Sally Hansen HD - Laser

Sorry about the mess, I had to get migraine medicine and it messed up my nails. Medicine was more important than polish. I didn't want to take the time to fix it because the polish was so annoying.

I definitely wont try any more colors in this line.

Also because I'm visiting Ohio and Pennsylvania this weekend, I don't know how often I'll be able to post. I have lots of pictures waiting, I just need to have an internet connection!

Julep Review

Blogger is annoying because it just deleted all of my post. So here it is again. I received 4 Julep polishes this week. Two were from Adventures in Acetone's Blog Sale. Check it out because she still has polishes for sale and some are only $1. I bought Michelle and Diane.

I received the other 2 in my first Julep Maven box. This is $20 a month for 3 items. My third item was a hand soap that exfoliates your skin. I haven't tried it yet. I got Penelope and Portia. You can see Penelope in my previous post. It's a soft pink that, like most light colors, takes 3 streaky coats to get it opaque. Sigh.

Here is my new Julep mani:
Base: Julep - Michelle
Glitter: Julep - Portia
Top Coat: Seche Vite

Michelle is a deep blue. Formula is average.
Portia is a fabulous glitter with teal, blue, orange, and yellow specks. It had a fantastic application and was surprisingly easy to remove.

Top Coat of Essie - Matte About You

The problem with Julep: Each 8ml bottle is $14. There's no way in hell it's worth that much. The application is average (OPI is definitely better) and the colors aren't THAT special. It is 3 free, but so are a lot of cheaper polishes. Still, because Portia was so awesome (that might be worth $14) I'll give the Maven box one more month before I decide to cancel.

What do you think about Julep?

Girly Girl Challenge Day 7: Sugar, Spice and Everything Nice

For this challenge I started with a nutmeg color for the "spice," then added some soft pink for the "everything nice."

Brown: OPI - Over The Taupe (2 Coats)
Pink: Julep - Penelope (3 Coats)
Top Coat: Seche Vite (this bottle is almost empty and even with Restore it's a pain to get onto the nail)

As it turns out, I don't like this brown. The application was perfect but the color just isn't me.

This mani seems kind of blah. Oh well!

Excited about Wet n Wild Megalast

I tried Wet n Wild Megalast for the first time and I loved it. It covered in one coat! Let's take a look:

Base: Wet n Wild Megalast - I Need a Refresh-Mint (1 coat)
Glitter: Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear - Disco Ball
Top Coat: Seche Vite

It has a little more green in it than the picture shows.

Go out and try this $2.00 nail polish!

Yes, I know that everyone and their mom has already posted about Whimsical, but I just got it! I had been looking at every store for months and then it finally popped up at Ulta.

Girly-Girl Challenge Day Five: Gotta Love Chick Flicks

I know I just posted a few minutes ago, but I can't contain my excitement over this challenge!

I have two favorite chick flicks, so I decided to do them both!

The first is Runaway Bride starring Julia Roberts and Richard Gere. She abandons a total of four grooms at the altar.

Black: Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear - Black Out
White: Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear - White On
Bride's Skin: Essence - Nude It!

Here are the four grooms and the bride! She's wearing pearls!
(Btw this essence gave me no trouble! It was great!)

The second movie, my all time favorite chick flick is While You Were Sleeping staring Sandra Bullock and Bill Pullman. There's a scene where they're slipping and falling on a big patch of ice. Here are my ice nails:

I layered four different coats of polish for this:

1 Franken - Angel Wings
1 ORLY - Twilight
1 China Glaze - Luxe and Lush
1 OPI - Glitter-ally The Best Silver Ever

Let's all go watch our fav chick flicks now!

I Blue It

Here is another post about blue nail polish. I love blue!

Base: Ulta - Mint Condition
Shatter: Finger Paints - Blue Crackle

I think the Finger Paints crackles are great. My pinky looks a little weird because I applied too much by accident. Oops!

I promise this is the last crackle for awhile!

I Do Not Like Green Eggs And Ham

But I do like green jelly sandwiches!

Jelly: Ulta - Pink-A-Boo
Glitter: Spoiled - Show Me The Money
Top Coat - Seche Vite

I used two coats of Pink-A-Boo
one coat of Show Me The Money
One coat of Pink-A-Boo
One coat of Seche Vite

I'm definitely addicted to Jelly Sandwiches now! Are you?

Bright Enough?

I bought this bright China Glaze and it dried matte like Turned Up Turquoise. I didn't like it matte so I didn't even take a picture. Here it is shiny:

China Glaze - Flying Dragon
Top Coat - Seche Vite

The tiny blue glitter is my favorite part!

Then I added Essie - Shine of the Times

Yum!

What do you think?

New Favorite Brown

I picked this up in Ulta on the sale rack. I LOVE it. I found out this this is the second version of this color. The first version was a holo.

OPI - My Private Jet
Top Coat - Seche Vite

Tell me you love this as much as me!

I looked up swatches of the first version and I like mine better!

Essence

If you read my last post, you will notice that I tried Essence Nail Polish for the first time. The first polish came out great, but I had a LOT of bubbles in this one. I don't think it was anything I did because I didn't use a base or top coat, but that's always a possibility.

Essence - Let's Get Lost (adorable name)

Can you see the bubbles?

So then I decided to add some glitter and it made it all better :)
Spoiled - My Saturn Broke Down

Thank goodness for glitter!

My Boyfriend ROCKS!

My boyfriend fixed my computer! I don't know what he did, but it took him a long time. Thanks babe! You're the best!

Now on to NAILS! I can't tell you how excited I am that my blogger is at full capacity! I was so bummed last week. It would only let me comment when it felt like it, and one comment often took 20 minutes, nevermind how long a post took.

So if I didn't comment on some of your posts, it's only because it was unbelievably difficult to do so!

Now, everyone is gaga over essence nail polish. The tiny bottles are only .99 cents but this didn't necessarily make me want to buy it. But then I figured that my fellow bloggers would not lead me astray! So I bought two!

The first is Luxury Secret

Great formula + Great Color = Winner

Then I decided to put some Finger Paints - Red Crackle (so creative, right? Lol) on top. It made me think of vampires. Yum!

Unfortunately, I had a problem with the second Essence polish. I will reveal that in a second post. Why? Because I can post again!! YAY! Aren't you excited?

Girly Girl Challenge Day Four: Inspired by the Runway

I went here to read about the fashions for Autumn 2012. They talk about mixing orange and teal together. That sparked my idea for a mani.

Teal: China Glaze - Turned Up Turquoise (This is matte that needed 3 coats. I put seche vite over it.)
Orange: China Glaze - Riveting
Top Coat: Seche Vite

The turquoise is more green in real life. Bad boy, camera!

On my left hand I used the same colors but on the opposite hands. Then I added Finger Paints - Silver Crackle for fun!

Girly Girl Challenge Day 3: Delicate & Elegant

While my blogger is still working, I wanted to post what I did for day 3 of the challenge!

I wanted something light and pretty, so I made my first jelly sandwich! Here's how it went...

2 Coats China Glaze - Love Letter (A peachy color so light it was almost clear)
1 Coat Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear - Strobe Light
2 Coats ORLY - Twilight
1 Coat China Glaze - Love Letter
1 Coat Seche Vite

Yes, you read that correctly, 7 coats of polish!

What do you think?
