Sweet Swatches from OPI Holland Collection

I got four nail polishes from the OPI Holland Collection and I wanted to swatch them for you!

First up is Pedal Faster Suzi (3 Coats)

A sweet baby pink with light silver shimmer.

Next is Kiss Me on My Tulips

Hot pink creme. Does anyone else feel like an idiot pretending to speak French when you use the word "creme" or is it just me??

Next is Red Lights Ahead...Where?

Coral/Red creme.

Last swatch is I Have a Herring Problem

Blue/Grey with gold shimmer. Seems like a darker version of I Don't Give a Rotterdam to me.

If you want to see I Don't Give a Rotterdam (my favorite so far) you can look back at my previous post Once In a Blue Moon.

Which is your favorite?

Matte Foil? Yes Please!

I tried out a new foil from Revlon, which I thought was very pretty. Then I decided to matte it, because I'd never done that with a foil. I LOVE it. I'm very addicted to matte.

Revlon - Copper Penny
Essie - Matte About You

Here it is without the matte coat:

Now Matte:

First Franken!

I am so excited to show you all my first franken! It's shimmery and frosty and light. I'm calling it Angel Wings. If I was ever to have a brand of nail polish, which is unlikely, I would name it Bonfire.

Angel Wings (3 coats)

Depending on the light it has a pink, purple, blue or green sheen. I tried to capture that in the pictures, but it's hard to see.

I would appreciate any criticism or advice!

Red-y, Set, Go!

My boyfriend gave me this fabulous red for Christmas. It's name is perfect because red geraniums really are this color!

Base: Essie - Geranium
Gold: China Glaze - Champagne Bubbles

Red is my favorite color! Yay!

Blue Me Away

I've seen glitter gradients that start from the bottom of the nail instead of the top, but when I saw the reverse gradient on Enamel Girl I wanted to try it!

Blue: Ulta - Blue Streak
Glitter: Spoiled - Jewelry Heist
Top Coat: Seche Vite

My only problem was trying to take a good picture. The glitter is copper, silver, and turquoise. I think it just looks gray in the pictures :(

If you want to see a great picture of Jewelry Heist go to The Collegiate Nail. She has a picture of it in the bottle and it's great!

At least the blue is pretty!

Shimmer Shimmy!

I bought new glitters and shimmers from the $1.99 brand Spoiled. I love them! I layered two of the colors over a grey so you could see!

Base: Revlon - Graceful
Blue: My Saturn Broke Down (1 coat)
Teal on accent nails: Use Protection (1 coat)

Isn't the title of the teal strange, but health conscious? Lol!

I should have tried it with two coats too so I could see what it looked like, but I didn't think about it until I had already taken it off.

Here's a picture of Revlon - Graceful without the shimmer:

I love grey!

Isn't great for such a low price??

Godiva

This mani definitely reminded me of chocolate, and who doesn't love chocolate?

Base: Revlon - Espresso
Gold: Ulta - High Roller
Top Coat: Seche Vite

Yum!

No Place Like Home

This nail polish reminded me of Dorothy's ruby slippers!

Sally Hanson Gem Crush - Cha-Ching!

It has small red sparkles and bigger silver sparkles!

Click your heels together and say "there's no place like home."

Mermaid Scales

Mermaids might be my favorite fairy tale creature! They're so alluring. I also love Sirens, which are very similar.

I used over 15 polishes for this, which is why it looks a little crazy! This is also why I'm not going to list all of the names. My tool was the end of a bobby pin.

I think it would be fun to do a whole series of nails based on fairy tale creatures or mythology. Maybe Medusa should be next?

Autumn Wind

This is my entry to Chalkboard Nails' nail contest! This nail contest involves using only a dotting tool for nail art. My hi-tec dotting tool was the end of a bobby pin!

I used a lot of colors and I don't want to type them out. So here are my nails:

The wind is blowing the tree's leaves away.

I hope you like it.

Is It Summer Yet?

I wanted something bright and happy this time.

The pink and orange nail polishes were at least 8 years old and didn't even have names. The application was so horrible that I threw them out after I did my nails.

Yellow: NYC - Taxi Yellow Creme

Then I decided to make it punk by putting black crackle over it.

Crackle: China Glaze - Black Mesh

Don't you wish summer was here?

Ice Queen

Who doesn't love a fierce Ice Queen? I applied the glitter with a makeup sponge!

Base: Pure Ice - Silver Mercedes
Glitter: China Glaze - Lorelei's Tiara
Top Coat: Seche Vite

I hope you like my cold Ice Queen!

Once More With Feeling

This post is the same as the last. The only difference is that it is MATTE.

Matte Top Coat: Essie - Matte About You

Isn't Matte Magical?

Wicked Witch

I love flakies! This is my first time using all of these polishes and they're all great!

Base: Essie - Wicked
Flakies: Finger Paints - Flashy

Yummy, right? On my right hand, I put glitter on my ring finger instead of flakies, to make an accent nail.

Glitter: Ulta - Pinata-Yada-Yada

Wow Watermark

Yay! My first watermarked pictures! Maybe it's too small? Anyways, I love the base color. It has a red sheen which made me want to do red nail art!

Base: Finger Paints - Warm He-art-ed
Red: Revlon - Frankly Scarlet

Singin' The Blues

Why is it that my nails look great in person, but when I take a picture I can see all the little mistakes? Boo. I still like this manicure! This is one of the new China Glaze Electropop colors!

Blue: Kinetic Candy
Top Coat: Seche Vite

The bow is from the born pretty store.

Earthy Mother

This is my first time trying these colors and I love them both. They remind me of autumn.

Green: Zoya - Edyta
Accent Nail: Orly - Rock The World
Top Coat: Seche Vite

If I had a better camera you could see how awesome Edyta is. Sorry :(

Once In A Blue Moon

I had this color on my nails for two days. I'm in love with it!

OPI - I Don't Give A Rotterdam!
Top Coat - Seche Vite

Then I put a layer of crackle polish over it.

China Glaze - Latticed Lace

I hope the glare doesn't make it too difficult to see!

I Think in Pink

I normally don't like soft pinks on my nails but for some reason this nail polish caught my eye and I love it!

Revlon - Popular
Top Coat: Seche Vite

Can you see the pretty silver glitter in it?

Blue Me Away

This is a very simple manicure. I just used rhinestones that I bought at a craft store, in the scrapbook section.

Base: China Glaze - First Mate
Top Coat: Seche Vite

Valentine's Colors

This is a Valentine's Day manicure! I used a straw to splatter the pink nail polish. I used a needle to apply the white. This was my first splatter and I, as always, need more practice.

Base: Ulta - Red Carpet Red
Pink: Sally Hanson Insta-Dri - Pink Blink
White: Revlon - White on White
Top Coat: Seche Vite

Valentine's Day is only four days away. Buy flowers for someone.

Stolen Picture

Someone stole my picture and posted it as their own on Pinterest.com

This seems crazy because I have NO followers, but whatever.

Here is the sadness:

*She took the picture down a few minutes after I commented on it. I guess I should watermark my pictures now :(

Has this ever happened to you?

Read All Over

What's black and white and read all over? My newspaper nails! This is my first time doing these and I love it!

Base: Ulta - Pink-A-Boo (3 coats and it still wasn't opaque, which is annoying)
Top Coat: Seche Vite

The book is William Shakespeare's Macbeth, in case you couldn't tell. It's my favorite Shakespeare play!

Polka Dots

I don't have a dotting tool, so I used a bobby pin to make the dots. I absolutely love these, but I wish I had made the dots more precise. As per usual, I need more practice!

Base: Sally Hanson Xtreme Wear - Coral Reef
Dots: Pure Ice - Silver Mercedes

Then I Used Essie - Matte About You

Gold and Glitter

After I did these nails, I thought that they would be good for Mardi Gras because the glitter is mostly purple and green!

Gold: China Glaze - Champagne Bubbles
Glitter: Spoiled* - Pet My Peacock
Top Coat: Seche Vite

*This nail brand is only $1.99. It's my first time trying it and it wasn't perfect, but it was definitely worth the price. I'm going to try more in the future.

A dog hair got into this picture on my ring finger. Lol!

Love, Bethany.

Hearts

This is my first attempt at free hand hearts. They are a little messy, but I love the idea so I'll just have to practice some more!

Base: Sally Hanson Xtreme Wear - Mint Sorbet
Hearts: Revlon - White On White
Top Coat: Seche Vite

I've Got The Blues

This needed clean-up, which I should have done before taking the pictures. Oops.

Anyway, I really liked this matte nail polish. It's so bright!
