Prom Nails

I'm calling these "prom nails" because I wore the base color to my Junior Prom 5 years ago. It matched my dress!

The picture is different because I was in the car on an 8 hour drive to Akron. Sorry it's not as good as my others!

Base: Revlon - Limited Edition Bronze Ablaze (2 coats)
Glitter: Sally Hansen Diamond Strength - White Veil (1 coat)

Yay for prom!

Btw, am I the only one that thinks it's strange that inexpensive polishes have limited editions?

Sally Hansen HD Review

It's a bad review guys. I did not like this polish because the formula was very thin and runny. It took three coats for it to be opaque and each coat took FOREVER to dry. Sigh.

Also, it's not particularly pretty.

Sally Hansen HD - Laser

Sorry about the mess, I had to get migraine medicine and it messed up my nails. Medicine was more important than polish. I didn't want to take the time to fix it because the polish was so annoying.

I definitely wont try any more colors in this line.

Also because I'm visiting Ohio and Pennsylvania this weekend, I don't know how often I'll be able to post. I have lots of pictures waiting, I just need to have an internet connection!

Julep Review

Blogger is annoying because it just deleted all of my post. So here it is again. I received 4 Julep polishes this week. Two were from Adventures in Acetone's Blog Sale. Check it out because she still has polishes for sale and some are only $1. I bought Michelle and Diane.

I received the other 2 in my first Julep Maven box. This is $20 a month for 3 items. My third item was a hand soap that exfoliates your skin. I haven't tried it yet. I got Penelope and Portia. You can see Penelope in my previous post. It's a soft pink that, like most light colors, takes 3 streaky coats to get it opaque. Sigh.

Here is my new Julep mani:
Base: Julep - Michelle
Glitter: Julep - Portia
Top Coat: Seche Vite

Michelle is a deep blue. Formula is average.
Portia is a fabulous glitter with teal, blue, orange, and yellow specks. It had a fantastic application and was surprisingly easy to remove.

Top Coat of Essie - Matte About You

The problem with Julep: Each 8ml bottle is $14. There's no way in hell it's worth that much. The application is average (OPI is definitely better) and the colors aren't THAT special. It is 3 free, but so are a lot of cheaper polishes. Still, because Portia was so awesome (that might be worth $14) I'll give the Maven box one more month before I decide to cancel.

What do you think about Julep?

Girly Girl Challenge Day 7: Sugar, Spice and Everything Nice

For this challenge I started with a nutmeg color for the "spice," then added some soft pink for the "everything nice."

Brown: OPI - Over The Taupe (2 Coats)
Pink: Julep - Penelope (3 Coats)
Top Coat: Seche Vite (this bottle is almost empty and even with Restore it's a pain to get onto the nail)

As it turns out, I don't like this brown. The application was perfect but the color just isn't me.

This mani seems kind of blah. Oh well!
