My Boyfriend ROCKS!

My boyfriend fixed my computer! I don't know what he did, but it took him a long time. Thanks babe! You're the best!

Now on to NAILS! I can't tell you how excited I am that my blogger is at full capacity! I was so bummed last week. It would only let me comment when it felt like it, and one comment often took 20 minutes, nevermind how long a post took.

So if I didn't comment on some of your posts, it's only because it was unbelievably difficult to do so!

Now, everyone is gaga over essence nail polish. The tiny bottles are only .99 cents but this didn't necessarily make me want to buy it. But then I figured that my fellow bloggers would not lead me astray! So I bought two!

The first is Luxury Secret

Great formula + Great Color = Winner

Then I decided to put some Finger Paints - Red Crackle (so creative, right? Lol) on top. It made me think of vampires. Yum!

Unfortunately, I had a problem with the second Essence polish. I will reveal that in a second post. Why? Because I can post again!! YAY! Aren't you excited?

Girly Girl Challenge Day Four: Inspired by the Runway

I went here to read about the fashions for Autumn 2012. They talk about mixing orange and teal together. That sparked my idea for a mani.

Teal: China Glaze - Turned Up Turquoise (This is matte that needed 3 coats. I put seche vite over it.)
Orange: China Glaze - Riveting
Top Coat: Seche Vite

The turquoise is more green in real life. Bad boy, camera!

On my left hand I used the same colors but on the opposite hands. Then I added Finger Paints - Silver Crackle for fun!

Girly Girl Challenge Day 3: Delicate & Elegant

While my blogger is still working, I wanted to post what I did for day 3 of the challenge!

I wanted something light and pretty, so I made my first jelly sandwich! Here's how it went...

2 Coats China Glaze - Love Letter (A peachy color so light it was almost clear)
1 Coat Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear - Strobe Light
2 Coats ORLY - Twilight
1 Coat China Glaze - Love Letter
1 Coat Seche Vite

Yes, you read that correctly, 7 coats of polish!

What do you think?

Sad

Ok so my blogger is still fighting with me. Sometimes it lets me log on, but most of the time it does not. Hopefully it will start working. Sad face :( I can't tell you how much I've missed posting and commenting!

I decided to include two different pictures in case I can't post again for awhile.

First:
Base: ORLY - Le Chateau
Shimmer: ORLY - Twilight

Le Chateau is actually a very dark green jelly. Can you tell that it's green?

Second:
Zoya - Neeka

I love this one

I've been so upset about my blog that I haven't even done my nails every day :( . Pray to the blog gods!

Blogging

My poor blogger has been on the fritz (isn't that a great phrase?) and I haven't been able to post. Now I can though! I have nail pictures saved up from the days I couldn't post. Here is the first!

Base: China Glaze - Knotty
Glitter: Nicole - A Million Sparkles

I put most of the glitter on the tips and then spread some down the nails.

This is my first time trying glitter that isn't round. I don't love it. But I love you readers! Sorry for my absence!

Maid of Honor Nails

My mom's wedding was beautiful and simple. My nail polish matched my dress: a purple/wine color. Mom's shoes also matched my dress, which was so awesome! She had a short dress that came down just past her knees, so the shoes could be seen. LOVE!

I got my nails done at a nail salon.

Poor choice. I had bubbles on many of my nails. It made me mad because I can do my nails without bubbles, so I should have just done it myself. My mom's nails came out perfectly though, so that's all that matters!

Purple/Wine color: OPI - Diva of Geneva

I hope no one minds that I posted nails that I didn't do myself! I posted the hand that had the smallest bubbles. I'm not sure you can see any in a picture this size. Maybe the one on my pinky?

I have nail pictures of my own coming soon!

For The Love of Grey

Guess what? My mom is getting married tomorrow! I'm the maid of honor (and the only bridesmaid)! I'll post my wedding manicure tomorrow if I have time. Here's some lovely grey:

Base: Essie - Chinchilly
Then a layer of: Spoiled - Paying With Platinum

Here is Chinchilly by itself:

This is only two coats. I think it would need three for full coverage.

Grey is my favorite color of clothing! Do you like grey?

New Favorite Black

Look at this gorgeous nail polish! No nail art, because this is fabulous by itself.

China Glaze - Lubu Heels
Top Coat - Seche Vite

Black with red shimmer. Genius.

Two coats!

I wish I had put a matte top coat on it before I took it off, but I wasn't thinking. Anyways, isn't it great?

Why So Many Posts?

Sorry I'm posting so much today! I just get so excited about the swatches and/or nail art that I have to show you! I've spent at least half of my day just looking at other blogs. I LOVE nails!

So here I have a color block mani! I've been wanting to do one of these for awhile but I didn't know what colors to use. Then inspiration came in the form of my new Fossil Purse! This must have been fate because it corresponds with the nail art competition from More Nail Polish! She asked for a mani that had been inspired by something!

I used tape to make the lines as straight as I could!

Red: OPI - Red Lights Ahead...Where?
Brown: Revlon : Espresso
Blue: OPI- I Have A Herring Problem
Top Coat: Seche Vite

Here they are:

My inspiration:

So excited about these! It took me a long time. I hope you like them.

Stay Within The Lines...Or Not

Using nail art brushes is still new to me. I have for your viewing pleasure: stripes. As per usual, I need more practice!

Pink: Pure Ice - Flirt Alert
Black - Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear - Black Out
Silver - Pure Ice - Silver Mercedes

You know how I love the matte coat! Essie - Matte About You

Maybe I'll use tape next time :)

Blue Blazes

Blue is my favorite nail polish color. I'm addicted to it. Here I use a blue that I've had for awhile with a new China Glaze from The Hunger Games collection.

Blue: Revlon - Royal
Flakies: China Glaze - Luxe And Lush

Here is Royal by itself (2 coats):

Of course, I had to matte it with Essie - Matte About You

Oops, my thumb is cut off!

The application of Luxe And Lush was a little difficult because it was very thick. Also, it left a very bumpy texture when it dried. One matte coat smoothed it out, but I don't know how many clear top coats it would take.

It's so pretty that I don't mind the slight difficulties. What do you guys think?

Sweet Swatches from OPI Holland Collection

I got four nail polishes from the OPI Holland Collection and I wanted to swatch them for you!

First up is Pedal Faster Suzi (3 Coats)

A sweet baby pink with light silver shimmer.

Next is Kiss Me on My Tulips

Hot pink creme. Does anyone else feel like an idiot pretending to speak French when you use the word "creme" or is it just me??

Next is Red Lights Ahead...Where?

Coral/Red creme.

Last swatch is I Have a Herring Problem

Blue/Grey with gold shimmer. Seems like a darker version of I Don't Give a Rotterdam to me.

If you want to see I Don't Give a Rotterdam (my favorite so far) you can look back at my previous post Once In a Blue Moon.

Which is your favorite?

Matte Foil? Yes Please!

I tried out a new foil from Revlon, which I thought was very pretty. Then I decided to matte it, because I'd never done that with a foil. I LOVE it. I'm very addicted to matte.

Revlon - Copper Penny
Essie - Matte About You

Here it is without the matte coat:

First Franken!

I am so excited to show you all my first franken! It's shimmery and frosty and light. I'm calling it Angel Wings. If I was ever to have a brand of nail polish, which is unlikely, I would name it Bonfire.

Angel Wings (3 coats)

Depending on the light it has a pink, purple, blue or green sheen. I tried to capture that in the pictures, but it's hard to see.

I would appreciate any criticism or advice!

Red-y, Set, Go!

My boyfriend gave me this fabulous red for Christmas. It's name is perfect because red geraniums really are this color!

Base: Essie - Geranium
Gold: China Glaze - Champagne Bubbles

Red is my favorite color! Yay!
